Meet Bee…

Barbara Jeremiah is currently working as a Company Director. She is a retired Magistrate, and formerly an RGN and textile designer.

A member of: Soroptimist International, The Royal Horticultural Society, New Embroidery Group, Phoenix Stitchers, Holybourne Beaders, and Busy Bees Hampshire, MG Car Club, A Freeman of the City of London, A Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners

Barbara has an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, BA (Hons) Art in the Community from the University of Surrey, Textile Diploma from East Berkshire College, City & Guilds Parts 1 &2 from the London College of fashion, Ceramics diploma from Morley College, ACSET  Adult Teaching Diploma (London) and RGN Nursing Qualification from the Royal Melbourne Hospital and St George’s Hospital (London).

She has undertaken commissions in textiles and ceramics and lectures on the History of Embroidery, The Bayeux Tapestry, The Straw Hat industry in the UK, and the National Garden Scheme for whom she raises funds by opening her garden, as well as other charities, for over 20 years. Her garden was given an award by the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust for an eco-friendly garden run on conservation lines with an English bluebell wood as its main feature. 

Barbara takes workshops on the stitch she invented, on embroidery and canvas work techniques, and design. Her on-going interest in gardening and colour is reflected in the designs mainly taken from nature and art.
